Job Description
Reporting to the Head Coach Softball, the Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach in developing, organizing and administering all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III Softball program. This is a four (4) month, part-time position.

Responsibilities include:
recruiting qualified student-athletes,
conducting and supervising all practice sessions and home/away contests,
assisting with the coordination of all team travel,
acting as a mentor for student-athlete personal development,
assisting the Head Coach in coordinating fundraising and community services events for the Softball program.

The Assistant Coach is responsible for compliance with the NCAA, Skyline Conference and SUNY Old Westbury rules and regulations. The Assistant Coach along with the Head Coach will be the drivers of the passenger vans for all away team travel. Participation required as necessary in SUNY Old Westbury and Athletic Department sponsored events such as Open House and the annual Athletic awards dinner. The successful candidate must have experience with multicultural student body populations.

Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and one (1) year softball coaching experience at a college, high school or club sport-level required with demonstrated success. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and must have a commitment to student-athlete academic success and well-being. Must have and maintain the appropriate valid NYS driver's license and have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations.

Preferred Qualifications
First Aid and CPR certifications are desired.
