Waterbury, Connecticut, POST UNIVERSITY - Waterbury, CT JOB SUMMARY DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS: The Director of Athletics provides administrative direction and oversight for all athletics staff, programs, facilities, activities and coaches. The director is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, NCAA, conference (Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, or CACC) and university athletics regulations, administering departmental funds and accounts in a fiscally responsible manner and sustaining a culture of sportsmanship, professionalism and respect at all levels. The director also collaborates with student administrative offices and admissions on the recruitment and retention of student athletes and with university affairs and the media on public relations and reporting of athletic events and results. Frequent nights and week-end work and in-season travel required. The Athletic Director will collaborate with all university departments to ensure a safe, positive, and personal learning culture. This position will serve in the Athletic Communications Dept. for North Carolina State University Athletic Department which competes as a NCAA Division I team in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Athletics Communications Department designs, writes and produces all media guides, news releases and other printed materials. They report statistics and information to ACC and NCAA offices. Coordinate and respond to all media inquiries. The Director of Communications is responsible for creating media awareness, working to extend the brand and message of NC State University Athletics and producing digital publications and publicity. Assist with the resolution of financial issues and payments to student-accounts. Coordinate with the UW Office of Student Financial Aid on all athletics aid scholarships and FAFSA issues. Monitoring (30%) - Independently monitor and assist with general office procedures for multiple areas of compliance. Those areas include Bylaw 13 (e.g. official visits, phone logs, recruiting logs), Bylaw 12 (prize money, outside competition, etc.), and student-athlete employment. Routinely audit the submission of logs across all sports and provide reports as needed. Monitor compliance software for violations. the submission of compliance logs by coaches. Education (5%) - Independently create educational materials and organize in-person educational sessions for assigned sports. This position is responsible for creating a timeline for educational efforts and timely materials as well as documenting these sessions. Work closely with athletic department staff members and outside entities such as the Office of Student Financial Aid, Housing and Food Services, and the business office, regarding compliance areas of responsibility. These responsibilities require highly specialized knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and how they integrate with institutional guidelines. Identify and resolve problems and issues in a timely manner using independent judgment and decision-making abilities. Assist in providing rules education for coaches, student-athletes, administrators, and representatives of athletics interests. Finally, work directly with ICA staff, coaches, and student-athletes to promote a positive compliance environment and to establish and maintain programs and procedures to ensure compliance with University, Conference and NCAA regulations and federal and state law. Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington, and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach | Maine Maritime Academy
Castine, Maine, Maine Maritime is seeking a part-time Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach. This is a temporary, academic-year position under the supervision of the program’s head coach. Assistant coaches are involved all facets of the profession, including, but not limited to recruiting, film editing and review, game planning, conducting drills and one-on-one workouts, and operations. Appointments are for one academic year and include an hourly wage of $14.15/hour. Some appointments may include housing, depending on availability. Appointments may be renewed for successive years. Allendale, Michigan, This position is responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of eligibility certification and works closely with the Laker Academic Success (LASC) team. The LASC provides advising and academic support services to student-athletes who are participating in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conferences (GLIAC) sanctioned sports at Grand Valley State University. The LASC connects student-athletes with all the available resources at GVSU with the primary focus is on academic advising. Primary Duties 1. Participates as an integral member of the eligibility certification team in coordination with the Laker Academic Success Center. 2. Provides academic support services primarily to upper classmen student-athletes by coordinating advising meetings and maintaining consistent contact with the assigned student-athletes. Additionally, maintains consistent contact with coaches of assigned student-athletes concerning all aspects of the student-athlete’s academic progress and eligibility. 3. Monitor, interpret, and apply University, GLIAC, and NCAA rules and policies as it relates to certifying academic progress toward degree requirements for all continuing student-athletes. 4.
