POSITION SUMMARY:
The University of New Mexico, Softball Program is looking for two Assistant Coaches to aid in the success of a team on the cusp of breaking out on the national scene. We are in an exciting year in changing the future of UNM softball. The two assistant coaches we are looking to hire are vital to the success of the program. They must have excellent character, enthusiasm and work ethic to enhance the softball program.

Head Coach, Ty Singleton is looking for coaches who have the ability to develop athletes in the area of pitching, hitting, and outfield. The coach must be detail oriented, self-motivated and bring to the program great enthusiasm that will project to the team and other staff in the athletic department.

These assistants will help in all aspects of recruiting, academic progress, on-field skill development, fundraising, scheduling, travel, equipment purchasing, budgeting and marketing the program.

Must be assertive and have great people skills in order to recruit and relate to student athletes as well as coaches of all levels. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Coaching players in competitive situations
• Physically able to work on field 4-5 hours daily with collegiate players
• Have one year or more coaching experience or have played at a high level for a significant amount of time
